Stamford Family Law Firm Offers Free Divorce Workshop

Stamford family law firm The Prince Law Group, LLC, will host free interactive divorce workshops on the first Monday of each month for self-represented individuals and couples seeking an amicable Connecticut divorce.

Fairfield County family law firm The Prince Law Group, LLC, will host the first free interactive workshop on November 10 to help assist self-represented individuals and couples seeking an amicable Connecticut divorce.

The workshop is entitled: “Navigating Your Divorce Case: A Free Workshop for Self-Represented Individuals and Couples Seeking an Amicable Divorce” and the first will be held on November 10 from 5:00-7:00pm. The presentation, which will be facilitated by Wendy Prince, Senior Partner of The Prince Law Group, LLC, is free and open to the public; reservations are necessary.

The Prince Law Group, LLC, developed this community program to help address the large number of self-represented individuals in Connecticut by offering free workshops with complete instructions to prepare and follow through your amicable divorce to completion. For those cases with contention, additional low-bono services will be available. In 2011, 85% of family court cases in Connecticut had at least one self-represented litigant and that number continues to rise. The interactive workshop will walk participants through the steps of a Connecticut divorce case. During this workshop, participants will have the opportunity to meet with experienced Connecticut family law attorneys who will give instruction and advice on the procedures to file their petition for a pro se divorce proceedings.

The concept of self-representation will be explained and experienced family law attorneys will provide participants with invaluable information regarding the complexities of divorce including take away court forms. Upon completion of the workshop, individuals should be able to self-guide through the Connecticut Judicial Branch website and have a better understanding of the documents involved. Additionally, a family counselor will be available to discuss the necessity of parenting education.
