Spears and Federline were married for almost three years before divorcing in 2007. They had two children together. The couple reached a child support agreement at the time of their divorce, but recently Federline has sought a modification, asking for more money.
Federline has cited a decrease in his income since the original agreement as a reason for the request for more child support. Although the exact terms of the new agreement are confidential, it has been reported that Federline feels that it would take triple the $20,000 per month that he has been receiving since the divorce to meet the needs of the children while they are in his care. He has reportedly claimed that he only earns about $3,000 per month in income while his ex-wife earns over $34 million each year.
Celebrities aren’t the only ones who have reason to re-negotiate their child support agreement.
