There is no shame in getting a divorce

When a marriage ends, it may be accompanied by a myriad of emotions. Connecticut couples who divorce may feel like they're in the spotlight, yet marriage breakups are so common today that few very people think twice about it. In fact, just a little more than 50 percent of all marriages will see 20 years these days -- the rest will end in divorce.

Divorce doesn't mean the two people in the marriage didn't try to make things work. Divorce doesn't always encompass the negatives about the marriage. In many respects the most intelligent, rational decision a couple can make is to end their marriage while they're still on relatively good speaking terms, especially if they have children. Divorce happens to good people, too.

In many instances, the end of a marriage will actually draw out strength in individuals. The waters may be rough, but there is help available. Divorce isn't for sissies. It's hard, sad and full of volatile emotions that can be a chore to rein in. The social stigma associated with a marriage that ends is getting less and less -- much less than it was in the 1940s and 50s, for instance.

A compassionate Connecticut divorce attorney can help a client get through these issues. An attorney will look after a client's legal standing in terms of the divorce process, and can also provide encouragement by recommending other professionals when appropriate. These people can include family therapists or caring pastors - whomever might be able to help in the divorce process.

We Listen, We Help, We Care

  • Hi Yuliana and Attorney Prince, Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to meet with me. I really appreciated how compassionate you were while listening to my situation, even through my tears. Thank you so much for sharing such valuable information with me. I left feeling very hopeful that when the dust settles, I’ll be ok.
  • Wendy helped guide us through a very difficult and emotional process and was really able to provide an even and fair account for both parties. It's quite evident in her expertise in this area but the way she was able to make you feel safe and secure in a very insecure time goes far beyond her legal prowess. If the two parties are really willing to cooperate and collaborate, she's there to help gain the best possible solution for all involved, especially if there are children.
  • Regardless of how committed one is to the fact that divorce may be imminent and necessary, it is truly one of the most emotional and stressful situations one can experience. It can also be daunting. Wendy has a remarkable ability to cut through the noise and help you focus on the big picture while drilling down on what is most pertinent to your particular situation., they are a formidable team who work collectively with your best interests in mind.
